Preliminary budget plan to be announced May 1 | Send to a Friend
Washington State University - World Class. Face to Face. Office of the President

Dear Members of the WSU Community:

Based on the reports I have been receiving, the Legislative session should officially conclude on April 26. House and Senate leaders announced Wednesday evening that they have reached preliminary agreement on the higher education budget for the state of Washington, and closure is occurring rapidly. With this timing in mind, we should be able to announce our preliminary budget plan on May 1.

This will enable us to hear your comments on the plan throughout the month of May. In addition to briefings that will be conducted at the college or unit level, I have called for a public budget forum at the CUB at noon on May 4. I also plan to meet with the Faculty Senate on May 7 and 12. The University Budget Committee's comments Web page will be available later next week for the submission of your comments and suggestions.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this important and very complicated process.

Sincerely,

Elson S. Floyd, Ph.D.
