Message from President Elson S. Floyd
Washington State University Office of the President
July 2, 2012

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students:

I am pleased to announce the formation of a new campus for Washington State University—The Global Campus—with WSU Online at its core.

WSU Online has long offered an outstanding academic experience to students around the world. But a true campus experience requires more.

This is a critical step for us as we seek to provide more opportunities to connect our online learners with our world-class WSU faculty. It will provide more ways to gain skills and knowledge. More chances to participate in cultural events. More ways to engage with potential employers.

So, in addition to online degrees and certificates (our two newest being a B.S. in psychology and an M.A. in sport management), The Global Campus offers new learning and networking opportunities, including:
  • Global Campus Connections: Offers WSU Online students a true campus experience with online career fairs, a digital pavilion where they can showcase their research, a common reading program, and a variety of e-vents.
  • The Digital Academy: Participants from around the globe can choose from short courses designed to build specific skills, open online seminars conducted by WSU faculty featuring their research and expertise, and professional development courses for career enhancement.
  • The other main components of The Global Campus are a training site for online instructors and a conference management unit.

Join me now in celebrating the newest member of the WSU family, as we move forward into this new digital world.

Our team has prepared a brief video to help explain these changes, and the new options they will provide. For more information on any of our programs, visit the WSU Global Campus website.
