Understanding Student Accommodations

Faculty Notification Letter Workshops

Faculty play a crucial role in supporting and facilitating academic accommodations for students with disabilities. These accommodations help students succeed academically by facilitating their engagement with your course material and giving them an opportunity to equitably demonstrate knowledge.

If a student in your class has a documented disability, you will receive a Faculty Notification Letter from the Access Center listing their specific academic accommodations. To help you understand these letters, the Access Center is facilitating two virtual workshops that will explain the ins and outs of the accommodations process and your rights and responsibilities as an instructor.

Fall Workshop Dates

Tuesday, Aug. 29 | 3–3:45 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 11 | 1–1:45 p.m.

No registration is necessary. All faculty are invited to join and learn more about accommodations!

If you would like more information or need accommodations to fully participate in the workshops, please contact Rob Morales.
