Nearly half of Pacific Northwest consumers do most or all of their shopping in-store, demonstrating the staying power of brick-and-mortar stores in the region, according to the Carson College’s annual holiday retail survey.

Nomad Go lands $2.7 million in Venture Capital Funding
Alumnus Jonah Friedl is the cofounder of Nomad Go, a startup that uses artificial intelligence to measure customer experiences at quick-serve restaurants and retail stores. The company, which just landed $2.7 million in venture capital funding, grew out of Friedl’s work as a student entrepreneur at WSU.

A Mother’s Persistence Inspires Son to Pursue a Business Degree
Maria Luisa Rodriguez earned a business degree at WSU Tri‑Cities last year after taking one to two classes at a time while her children were growing up. Her hard work inspired her son, Mario, to follow in her footsteps.
