Message from Dean Rezac
Looking ahead with hope
From Dean Rezac: I’m thankful for the strength, perseverance, and resilience of our students, faculty, and staff during this past difficult year. We have not only survived but, in some regards, thrived.

Optimizing vaccinations

WSU researchers developed an algorithm to optimize vaccine distribution in a simulated epidemic network.

Eye-track testing rig

A student team developed a testing rig that could alleviate some of the challenges in matching eye-tracking technology to patients.

Using origami for space fueling

Researchers used the ancient Japanese art of paper folding to possibly solve a key challenge for space travel—storing and moving fuel to rocket engines.

New courses on sustainable building and entrepreneurship

Buildings are large contributors to the carbon emissions that are changing the world’s climate, so who better to address the climate challenge than architects and designers.

Advanced degree opportunities

Voiland College has launched one-year, non-thesis master’s degree programs in engineering and computer science.

Electron-producing bugs power wastewater treatment

Researchers developed sustainable wastewater treatment using electron-producing microbial communities to clean the water.
