Dear Colleagues,
The Pullman campus will maintain
regular operations
on Friday, September 29, when
Cougar Football plays USC in a home
game that kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
in Martin Stadium. In order to ensure
the University’s academic
enterprise is fully operational and to
accommodate the anticipated sellout
crowd for the game, faculty, staff, and
administrators will be provided as much
flexibility as possible to carry out
their duties, manage classes, and address
employee work schedules.
To allow for game-related parking,
faculty, staff, and students must remove
their vehicles from
affected parking lots
no later than 1 p.m. on Friday,
September 29. Parking options,
including free shuttles from park-and-ride
locations, are available. See the
Transportation Services website for
more information about game day parking.
Faculty who teach a Friday class that
begins between 8:10 and 11:10 a.m.
are unaffected by game planning and should
convene their classes as normal. Faculty
who teach a Friday class that begins at
12:10 p.m. or later can either meet with
their classes in person, or provide a video
lecture using either Panopto (to record the
lecture in advance and play through
Blackboard at the scheduled meeting time)
or Collaborate Ultra (to livestream the
lecture through Blackboard from a remote
location).
Faculty who teach in the afternoon and
have a quiz or exam scheduled can either
administer the quiz/exam in person, or
online using Blackboard’s Tests
tool. More information about these
technology options can be found online:
Panopto,
Collaborate,
and
Testing in Blackboard Ultra.
Thank you in advance for your support and
flexibility as we welcome Cougar fans to
campus for this nationally televised game.
Go Cougs!
