The Murrow College of Communication offers a unique hands-on experience through its Backpack Journalism program.

The College of Pharmacy’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
program received a boost with a $27,000 grant from the American Society for Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics. Kathryn Meier landed the grant, which funds the hands-on research experience program, and WSU faculty lead the projects while serving
as mentors for the SURF students.
A team of 16 students in the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture completed a semester-long project to improve a Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe tribute site. The team completed landscape architecture designs to highlight the heritage and future of the tribe at a sculpture park near the confluence of the Spokane River and Lake Coeur d’Alene. Read more
