It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Lisa Gloss as dean of the Graduate School effective January 1, 2019. Lisa was appointed as interim dean in August 2017 and has done a magnificent job during her year and a half of service. Dr. Gloss has extensive academic and administrative experience and possesses a strong record of scholarly accomplishment. In addition, she has demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.
Dr. Gloss will serve a two-year term. During this term, I have asked Lisa to conduct a thorough review of the structure and policies governing graduate education at WSU. She will be assisted by a small team to complete this endeavor.
In closing, I want to recognize the great work of the faculty, staff, and students that comprise the Graduate School. President Schulz and I are excited about Dr. Gloss’s hire and appreciate your continued support as we move the Graduate School to greater heights.
