Monday, April 8
First In: First-Gen and Involved with Student Regent Jordan Frost
6:00–7:30 p.m. | Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center
How do you go from the first in your family to go to college to a highly engaged leader on campus? Join Student Regent and former ASWSU President Jordan Frost as he discusses his path and hosts a no-cost networking dinner sponsored by Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc. and OAE. Open to first-generation undergraduates, attendees will join fellow Cougs who blazed a similar trail and hear how they overcame barriers, became involved, and found their passion and purpose. Money Buckets with Jed Collins

Students, don’t miss this dynamic and empowering presentation from Jed Collins, a WSU graduate, former NFL player, and financial advisor for Brighton Jones. Jed is a passionate advocate for greater financial awareness and the principles of success he learned along his journey. He has empowered countless young adults on how to own their futures both financially and professionally. Introduction by director of Invest in Cougs, Kelly Demand.

#CougsGive is a day of giving in support of WSU’s transformational student experience. Make Invest in Cougs, an OAE initiative, your Giving Day program of choice and help ensure that unmet financial need is not a barrier to student success at WSU. Become a Cougar Ambassador to share the message of philanthropy and, if so inspired and you are able, donate to #InvestinCougs.

All students and colleagues are invited to tour the renovated Commons Student Center, new OAE program spaces, and learn about the initiatives of this Office of the Provost reporting unit. Join us for snacks and beverages and enjoy our first annual Academic Engagement in Action Exhibit, presented by director of the Aspiring Teacher Leadership and Success program, Ali Bretthauer. An Engaged WSU Experience: Nam Nguyen
4:00–4:30 p.m. | The Commons Second Floor
Nam Nguyen is the first Coug to study on every continent. In addition to participating in undergraduate research since he was a sophomore, he’s been an ambassador for the College of Arts and Sciences, an active member of both ATLAS and Invest in Cougs, and a speaker at TedX Hanoi. Discover how Nam created his WSU experience by making the most of opportunities and resources available in our community. Introduction by director of the Aspiring Teacher Leadership and Success program, Ali Bretthauer.
