College of Nursing
50 Years
Healing, Innovation, Service

Greetings, fellow donors and friends,

I am proud to be addressing you as a member of the first graduating class of the WSU College of Nursing. In the mid-1960s, a small group of nurse leaders created the vision and foundation for nursing education, and committed donors and supporters like you built it into what it is today.

Educators at the WSU College of Nursing have harnessed the founders’ spirit of innovation with high-tech tools like human simulation, and have developed advanced degrees to adapt to health care environment demands.

Generations of nurses educated at our college continue to distinguish themselves in patient care, administration, research, education, and service. WSU graduates have changed lives and transformed health care in every corner of Washington, across the United States, and beyond. I look forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary milestone this year.

In honor of this golden anniversary, I am asking you today to join me in giving back to the WSU College of Nursing. Your support will drive us forward into the next 50 years of healing, innovation, and service.

Thank you,

Mel R. Haberman, PhD, RN, FAAN
