COVID‑19 Update:
Event policy extended, online tools available
We are starting to see a
decline in the number of COVID‑19 cases and hospitalizations nationwide,
and at many of our WSU locations system‑wide. While this data is encouraging, it is
even more critical now to be diligent about practicing good COVID mitigation strategies.
This means:
Get vaccinated and boosted.
According to the CDC,
“people who are up to date with their COVID‑19 vaccines have the highest amount
of protection against both the Delta and Omicron variants.”
Wear your mask.
Masks are required in all indoor WSU locations, and either double‑masking
or the use of a high‑quality mask (KN95, KF94, or equivalent,
including medical masks) is recommended. Masks should cover your nose and mouth and
fit securely under your chin.
Stay home when you’re sick.
Whether or not you’ve tested positive, please stay home if
you have cold or flu‑like symptoms. See the last bullet
point for WSU’s new tool that provides guidance on what to do if you’re ill,
test positive for COVID‑19, or are a close contact of someone with COVID‑19.
Whenever possible, refrain from serving food and beverages at events.
We are asking organizers of events, including sporting events, to refrain from serving food or drink
until February 14. This allows attendees to keep their masks on at all times.
Following February 14, please carefully consider if it is necessary to serve food
or drink at an event.

This tool walks you through what steps to take around quarantine, isolation, and reporting based
on your personal situation (i.e. self‑reporting a positive diagnosis, what to do
as a close contact, when can you return to work/class). This tool does not take the
place of medical or legal advice.
Please complete this form before calling Environmental Health and Safety.
Remember, Cougs: keep up‑to‑date on your COVID‑19 vaccination,
wear your mask, and stay home when you feel sick. These three important steps will
help keep us on campus and in‑person this spring, and protect those most vulnerable
in our communities. Thank you for doing your part.
Go Cougs!
