Manoj Karkee, associate professor in the Department
of Biological Systems Engineering, was one of eleven scientists in the United States and Canada named as a 2019 Pioneer
in artificial intelligence and the “Internet of Things” by Connected World magazine.
Karkee was honored for his innovations
and discoveries contributing to increased productivity and conservation of resources on Northwest farms and orchards.
Deborah Compeau, professor of
information systems in the Carson College of Business, was named a fellow of the Association for
Information Systems. She was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the field of information systems through
research, teaching, and service, and was one of eight awardees for 2018.
Kimberly McKeirnan, a clinical assistant professor in the
College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, will be honored with a 2019 Distinguished Achievement
Award in Pharmacy Practice from the Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management.
McKeirnan was selected for her efforts to increase access to vaccinations
and also earned a 2019 Immunization Champion Award from the Academy. She will receive her awards at the APhA meeting
in Seattle in March.
